The long-suffering Indian cricket fan doesn’t know what to do! For, as if tolerating the excessive amount of intrusive advertising during cricket matches wasn’t enough, s/he now has to contend with the surfeit of cricket channels in India that are popping up faster than scams!
Last Friday I was on my way to Vadodara from Bangalore. After landing in Mumbai, as I was waiting in the queue for the security check, I was suddenly taken aback to see a bunch of people in blue “Team India” T-shirts. My god, it was the Indian cricket team!
I’m so fascinated by the Fake IPL Player blog that I thought I should compile a list of all the nicknames used by Mr. FIP to describe all the players, teams and team owners.
Probably the one distinguishing feature of IPL 2009 in my view has been the Fake IPL Player blog controversy. I first read about it in the newspapers at the start of IPL 2009, but didn’t bother to check it out until a few days ago. And when I did, I just couldn’t get enough of it!
